I was wondering if it would be possible to add time-based policy easily for captive portal? I have a friend who has children and she want to be able to control internet via time-based policy.

Also, is it possible to add "DansGuardian" into pfsense as 3rd party package? Its a web content filtering.

      Thanks,
      Richard

Try to use Captive portal with an external radius server that supports time based rules.

Once Squid is done work on squidguard-package will start. Myntric is working on this. He's also working on authentication for Squid I think but I haven't followed this closely. Check the Squid threads in the packages board.

That is correct.  Local, RADIUS, LDAP, and NT Domain authentication will be supported as means to control access as well as a time-based policy and squidGuard integration to filter white lists, black lists, etc.  In fact, the reason I took on the Squid project is so I could provide filtering and such for my children as well, so I can definitely relate.  More details will be posted to the Packages forum as progress continues.  I'm currently about 2/3 of the way done with the re-write and then I'm hoping it will be stable enough to move onto the squidGuard integration.  Thanks!
