Re: can't access webgui
-
ok I was reading a few topic and this one seems to fit my situation the best (yes I did search…thats usually the first thing i do in any situation) but I can't access my webGUI, when I do my IE browser says "resource (192.168.6*.*) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts." State: detected (yes I know non normal range of IP but i perfer to be on obscure IPs to make it harder for others out there looking on standard ranges, now heres the crux...I get web and every thing else perfictly ok...i halted and rebooted still no go on web gui...
i turn on devices and turn them off every thing gets IP ok...
I even tried restarting the webconfigureator, still no go on the gui, what happened, and reinstall is out of the question, period...that would mean too much down time for my network (yes I can have the down time but when other people in the house are using it almost 24/7 its rather difficult to get the time i want to reinstall and redo the firewall)...now does this mean I can reset to factory defaults? would that just redo the web gui and the other things like black lists and what not? if so that's acceptable since I haven't changed much...and what I did can be redone in 5 minutes flat...
Please could one of the gurus be kind enough to impart there knowledge to me so i can learn as well? I have been on the boards (this is my first post since I just made my account today) for about 2 - 3 weeks now so I been reading a lot here and just got to thank you for all the info I have learned so far!
EDIT: I just attempted to reset my lan IP (not sure if i did it correctly, but it seems i did something since now I get "connection inturupted" so that means im doing somethin I guess, but its still no go" anyone have other ideas before I decide to do factory reset?

i managed to get around the issue by resetting to factory defaults…however when I try to change the IP back to the original 192.168.65.23 (not even messing with the DHCP stuff) my web browsers seem to hate that and can't load the page...and my internet traffic out bound (LAN i assume for now) is killed compleatly...must I change the DHCP/DNS as well to the IP i want to use (192.168.65.23) or can I leave the DNS/DHCP alone?? at this time its using IP 192.168.1.1 (thats ok and I don't mind but I personially like to be on an obscure IP for my gateway to make it that much harder to find unless people know what to look for...)and I plan on using another IP in that near set so it may not be exactly the ..65.23 but still...
or am I missing somethin that is on the simple side? and I ask this because even with factory settings when I change the IP to what I want it causes the webGUI to not respond (page won't load)...ideas/suggestions/comments or concerns (any your doing it wrong and it needs to be done this way...)?
also side note I have the latest release of the firewall 1.2.3

If you change the LAN subnet, you have to change the DHCP server to assign the appropriate IPs and release and renew. Or if you're using a static IP on client, change the IP, gateway, and DNS.
