its been told manny times here it is again:

eneable the trafic shaper
eneable voip
when youre done
adapt the voip rule and queue for every ipadress you need a fixed Bandwidth

make sure the total Bandwidth off all the ipadreses combined is not more then the total Bandwidth
you give in by the trafic shaper, if it is then trafic shaping will not work

this option exists already in the beta version of m0n0wall, could you please include it ?

m0n0 uses dummynet for trafficshpaing, pfSense altq. I don't think this feature is portable atm.

The option already exists in HEAD but there is a bug with pf redirects and dummynet. When you use the two of them all traffic stops.

So we cannot include this feature until this FreeBSD issue is tracked down.

just on this topic. is dummynet differnet from altq it seems that ipfw can using altq netgraph.
or am i way ofline here. i have been looking for a way of implementing mpd pppoe server with
ipfw and altq for some time and i though recently i can close to a solution.

this would also apply to captive portal and allow other queues to be created dynamically via script or

although a little harder when you have many users, the queue with upper limits has worked great for me. Just create a queue for a specific host IP and then map the mac to that IP. The host will get that IP each time and be routed through the corresponding queue. This has worked great for me, but I can see where it wouldn't be helpful in a coffee shop like situation. Use status >>queues to make sure it is being routed properly.

I am running pfSense as a multi WAN load balacing router with no firewall or any other feature.
Will this speed limiting per IP address work in this situation?

Just a note. I had to run decent hardware to keep up with the stress of load balancing:
Athlon XP 2400+
512 MB DDR 333Mhz
4 x 100MBit NICs
40GB HD (just cus)
