Hi, I am using the FTP Helper for a proftd server and after I set everything up it works great.  Later it stops working and I get the following error messages over and over again:

    Apr 29 01:45:10 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33739 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:45:10 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33739 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:45:35 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33741 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:45:35 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33741 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:46:19 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33746 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:46:19 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33746 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:46:43 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33749 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:46:43 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33749 server refused connection
    Apr 29 01:46:51 pfsense pftpx[552]: #33750 server refused connection

on the pfsense box I can run ftp <server ip="">and it works fine.  This is on the stable pfsense release  not any beta.  Any ideas?</server>

Never seen that unless the server isn't actually responding. Get a packet capture of the internal interface where the server resides when it fails and see what's happening on the wire.
