Allow Mail Server IP
-
I have added an any to IP address rule in the portal allowed IP access rules for our mail server to allow email access without users going to the portal page in a web browser first. But it does not seem to work. I tried using the mail server IP address instead of the mail server domain name in my mail client but still no access till I visit the portal page and start a new lease. Any ideas please.

Do you forward the ports? If so its a headache with CP. If you doo, see my thread in NAT.

I presume youre using version 1.2.x, allowed ip access settings worked for me on this same versions as well current on 2.0.
You dont have to change mail settings on the client program for the bypass to work, is your mail server internal or external?

The Mail Server is external. That why I did the any to an IP rule to get out because mail does not work without a Captive Portal lease.
