    Hello everyone,

i've searched around the board but couldn't find any information about this.

is it possible to do protocol filtering using pfsense?

something like: outbound 80 is open so you can surf the web, but if you try to use (for instance) FTP on port 80 it gets blocked becouse 80 is meant to be used for http traffic?

Look at the L7 filtering capabilities of pfSense 2.0_BETA

We do what we must, because we can.

i'm really looking forward and expecting a lot from pfsense 2 :)

i hope it will be stable soon so that i can implement it in production.

EDIT: is there any tutorial on how to use layer 7 filtering already?
