Adding image to log in page(still not working)

I know this question has been asked before, but it seems that for the latest LiveCD image this URL rewrite problem for the path is still not fixed.
If user request a page www.XYZ.com,  the path of the image will be http://www.XYZ.com/image.gif.

Also is there anyway to increase the space limit for images? 256K is a bit tight.
