WebGui from WAN dies after a day or so.

  • I tried searching, but I didn't find anything.  I use the WebAdmin from work relatively frequently, but it seems that it only stays up (at least  from the WAN side) for a day or so before I have to restart it.  When I get home, it seems to be working fine from LAN, so I'm not sure what could cause this.  To make it more confusing, I have a NAT open for Terminal Services.  When I tried to use it today, it seems to be forwarding to a totally different LAN IP, as the login is WINXP and not Server 2K3.  I assume that is the only other PC I have on at home (can't check right now as I don't know the user and pass).

Anyway, this all seems a bit screwy (maybe the network guys are having some fun with me).  I just thought I'd check to see if there is something obvious I'm missing.  I guess if worse comes to worse I can set up a reboot each night…...

  • Seriously, I have never seen anything like this and I'm using all the features that you mention at boxes running dynamic pppoe wans and static wans. No issues.

  • pfSense requires at least 128 megabytes of ram.  If you have at least this amount of ram then I suspect something in your hardware.
