Need help with UPnP and NAT for my PS3 and Xbox 360
-
I've enabled UPnP (set it to disable every computer and made an allow list). I've tried port forwarding and everything I can think of. I have NAT set for manual as well. I tested to see if there was something wrong with the NAT so I opened the VNC port (5900) and had a VNC server. Ports scanned it with https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 and it said it was open. However, if I do this with the Xbox 360 game port (3074) it says it's stealth (even when doing the connection test). I have my Xbox set with DHCP Static mapping or whatever it's called. My computers are running on true static IP address though.
Here's the funny thing. The 360 is running with the DHCP static mapping (DHCP server is set for 192.168.1.10 through 192.168.1.50) and I've set the IP for 192.168.1.6 on the 360. I don't know if that's weird or anything because isn't it still a DHCP address? However, it can still access the internet and what not.
Pretty much I've tried the same with the PS3 also. My PS3 is set with static mapping with the address 192.168.1.5
Thanks for any help.

I also have a Belkin router that I've set up as an AP (one of the options it lets you have). However, even when it's being used as an AP it still has the option to enable UPnP (but nothing for firewall and NAT which is how it's suppose to be I'm assuming so why is there an option for UPnP still?)

By the way, as I have said, I have enabled UPnP on both the AP and firewall yet both the Xbox 360 and PS3 don't detect it.
I've even tried opening the UPnP port for both the AP and firewall (using their IP address) and still nothing…this is starting to tick me off. And it's done this to me even before I tried pfSense.

Sorry for the third post. I'm posting this from my PS3. So I found out it's not my pfSense box. I connected my PS3 straight to my firewall and it says UPnP is avalable AND I have a Type 2 NAT. Now I just have to figure out what's going on with this Belkin AP…grr. By the way, I've been doing some trial and error things with this which may explain why I've posted three times (four if you include my first topic starter). Hope this helps with helping me.

Try the config per my post in the sticky thread. Just be sure to disable UPnP.
