Company Wide Wireless Access

  • Hi Everyone,

This isn't a pfSense question, however we have our heart set on using pfsense as the VPN endpoints.

We wish to deploy company wide wifi accross multiple sites. Each site will have a pfsense box acting as a VPN endpoint for access to central resources. What we would like though, is something a bit more substantial than simple putting up a WPA2 key up on our internal wiki. We would like authentication on a user by user basis, which uses a central server to authenticate.

Oh, and it also has to be free and open source :)

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Thanks

  • Sounds like you want to use Radius authentication. There are many free Radius implementations, you'll just want to ensure that you replicate it across each site.

You can use a central radius server with several radius proxies too…
