      had pf up and running for the last few days seems pretty stable and no dramas with it so i decided to buy a wi fi card which ive installed however i dont know how to configure it?

            Here you have a List of supported cards, check if your card is supported & if the "mode" ( AP or Client  ) that you want to use is supported.

              hmmm dont really know what im looking at there!! its the edimax ew-7612pin card i've bought. should of looked at the list before i bought maybe!

                Edimax ew 7612pin uses a realtek chipset not sure the model number, suggest you install in a windows machine to find out the model number or look closely at the card.

                  As best I have been able to tell FreeBSD (and hence pfSense) doesn't support AP mode on the Realtek chip(s) that are supported.

                      I've had good results with

                      USB:  Tenda W311U (run driver) and TP-Link TL-WN321G (rum driver)
                      PCI:    TP-Link TL-WN651G (ath driver)

                      which all operate in AP mode.

                        anyone have a link for a good one wi fi card that would work from ebuyer.co.uk? (not being lazy already bought one from there that didnt work) cheers
