    I installed pfsense 2.0RC3 and tried to configure WebGUI for accessing from the Internet. I followed the solutions found on this forum and did the following configurations:

    1. [System][Advanced]TCP Port: 8888

    2. [Firewall][Rules][WAN]TCP * * * 8888 * none

    I still couldn't access to https://{WAN Address}:8888/

    What can I do to make it work?

        @Metu69salemi:

        Do you mean:
        TCP    *    *    <wan address="">    8888    *    none
        ?</wan>

            Thanks.

            Since I am lock out from outside, I couldn't modify it until next week. However, your configuration seems work.
            I will also use aliases as you do. It is a good practice.

                It is as simple as you described. Well done.

                  It has nothing to do with ISP. The problem is me as a newbie having insufficient knowledge about pfSense. This forum rocks. And pfSense rocks!

                    I would of recommended setting up a VPN, connecting via VPN then accessing the Webmin via VPN.

                      I'm trying to setup WebGUI access on the WAN (temporarily for testing purposes). I can't figure out why my custom port doesn't work. If I leave custom port blank and create a rule under the WAN tab to forward to the HTTPS port I can access the WebGUI from an external computer. However, when I set a custom port and change the WAN rule accordingly it just times out when I try to connect.

                      Works:

                      Does not work:
