      Hello,

I have what I believe to be a quick questions regarding using a wireless router behind pfSense.

My question is: can I set up a wireless router behind pfSense that will also act as a switch for other computers to be connected into it using an ethernet cable?

Here is in more detail what I am trying to accomplish.

      [WAN]            [IP:192.168.1.2]        [IP: 192.168.1.2]
Cable Modem >      pfSense >            wireless router    >                              PCs(using ethernet cable to router LAN), wireless devices
                                                              [Netgear N600 model WNDR3700]
                                                              [DHCP is disabled, ethernet cable
connected from pfsense to a LAN input]

I am trying to figure out whether I need to buy a switch or use what I have and accomplish the same results.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Also if you any better suggestions please feel free, they are much welcome.

      Thanks.

That is the recommended configuration for connecting wireless routers.

            Thanks for the replies!

So, I should be able to make that setup work without the need of a switch? Use the LAN ports of the router to connect PCs?

            Thanks

The LAN ports of that router are a switch.
