Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

Wmlaros post helped me to upgrade to pfSense 2.0 which works like a charm.
I would be extremely happy if anyone told me how I can delay the other VM's auto start like a minute or so to make sure that pfSense is up and running first.
I've tried to set the timeout to 60 in the /boot/grub/grub.cfg (debian squeeze) but that does nothing. If I change the filename of linux or initrd the machine will not start but that's all the difference I can do in grub.cfg.

      Anyone knows what to do?

Xenserver 6.0 can do this. I think it's a paid feature though.

If you are using XEN you can refer to this link.

I can verify you can do this in XenServer 6.0. It's not a paid feature.

You create a new V-app and assign vm's to the v-app. Once this is complete you can then assign a start up order, delay, and priority with any vm.

No need to modify an config files like cougarmaster has linked. XenServer 6 takes care of this for you.
