    Hi!

I just started to use Pfsense, i installed the 64-bit version on my router.
When check the smart status of my disk i get this error:

    smartctl 5.41 2011-06-09 r3365 [FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE-p4 amd64] (local build)
    Copyright (C) 2002-11 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net

/usr/local/share/smartmontools/drivedb.h(263): Syntax error, invalid char ''

This is when i select - Info or Health or SMART Capabilities or Attributes or All (top of the page)

It looks like the smarttool is called with the wrong parameters.
    What to do?

Same issue on the command line:

      [2.0-RELEASE][root@router.bla.net]/root(7): smartctl ad0
      smartctl 5.41 2011-06-09 r3365 [FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE-p4 amd64] (local build)
      Copyright (C) 2002-11 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net

/usr/local/share/smartmontools/drivedb.h(263): Syntax error, invalid char ''

      Seems like a package issue?

I fixed the issue, there was a weird character in the drivedb.h file on line 263 and removed it.

        Weird?
