      Hi

      trying to install the above in pfsense2 but it wont get past here in boot sequence

      PCI4: ACPI PCIBUS on PCIb4
      ATH0 ATHEROS 5212 mem 0xfbbe0000-0x1bbeffff irq19 @ device on pci4

      am using mini pci to pci adapter.

      I have tried using this advice from forum :-

      runfw_load="YES"
      to /boot/loader.conf.local to get the firmware loaded at boot time.

        Some more information, to chew on ;-), its not a hdw fault as I have run the card up in a win7 machine and had it connect to an access point and d/l a file. So all ok on that front

          Some more debug..I actually installed on the box(which BTW is a Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3) where the Pfsense install is hanging and got the CM9-Gp working, so I dont think that its the motherboard.

          Interestingly, a live cd for Mint11 also hangs??

          Steps from here? Anyone?

            Ok Isolated the problem! Its the mother board ie GA-H57M-USB3 by Gigabyte.

            The CM9-GP WILL NOT WORK with this version of Pfsense and this motherboard. Period!

              Just for the record, the advice @craigjl77:

              I have tried using this advice from forum :-

              runfw_load="YES"
              to /boot/loader.conf.local to get the firmware loaded at boot time.

              has no obvious relationship to your problem.  It is applicable to USB devices using particular Ralink chipsets and not to PCI devices using Atheros chipsets. Maybe you have a USB device with Ralink chipset that you didn't mention.

                This is typically seen with shared IRQ issues, disabling whatever shares the IRQ of the ath card is often the key to get it working.
                Also remember that some PCI to minipci converters have issues, and don't try the dual or quad PCI-Minipci converters combined with ath this will result in all sorts of grief.
