I can not access anything from files.pfsense.org and I can not install any packages that need binaries.

There is some kind of issue with that box, it's at a colo facility and I know cmb was working on it last night but I'm not sure if anything was definitively found as the cause. It looks like it's still down now.

I can't express how disappointing an outage like this is - the pfSense system is extraordinarily dependable, and, up to this point, the servers which provide the packages have been largely reliable.  Now I'm visiting sites to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1.  I removed my packages, performed the update, and now cannot reinstall the packages.  If I attend the training in Louisville can my training fee be put towards a mirror?

Ok, I will say this is starting to get upsetting. I cannot get packages to reinstall. This is crippling. The worse thing is it is happening on the last part of the week before Christmas. This is not cool. "HOW LONG WILL THE PACKAGE INSTALLER SYSTEM BE DOWN"!!!

I see that the pfsense base software install system is back up and running. Any ETA on the package install system? I had to restore a system with a config file earlier today and it went to crap and complete ffff up when trying to reinstall the packages. I just wanna know if the package install will be back up today.

                      Thanks,

We have the package builders working on making a fresh set of binaries in case we can't recover the existing box, and we already have a new updates server primed and ready to go.

One way or another there should be something up that will cover most things sometime later this evening.

ok, thanks for the update. I was trying to rebuild a system with an issue I was trying to correct and I was not fully aware that the package system was down. When I pressed that restore from config file button, it was then I realized I was in trouble when all the package installs failed.

                          Thanks,

Hi, I have a pfSense 2.0 RC3 firewall, the package squidGuard 1.4_3 will be available in those new servers? I can't upgrade this firewall to version 2.0.1 right now.

                            Thanks.

The packages for all 2.x versions are pulled from the same set. If it's there for 2.0-RCx, or 2.0-RELEASE, or 2.0.1-RELEASE, it's there for all.

Hopefully they are up sooner than later :P  I can get by until then.  I would love to see a feature added to the software that checks for issues like this before starting an update though.  Or even if it downloaded all the required files and packages before installing the updates, and if it can't it aborts.  That way it would save headaches when user or server issues arise.

                                Hopefully this isn't interrupting holidays.

Hope it will be up soon, badly need it just upgraded to 2.0.1 and all my packages are gone, need to reinstall as soon as possible.

And I hope a notification will be given first before they bring down any server. :)

It's back for good. Sorry for the inconvenience folks. The provider that hosts that screwed up our VLAN doing some massive network changes late last night, and the server where we used to keep a synced backup copy died a while back (new backup is syncing up now, and will stay synced up so this doesn't happen again).
