Use a password to protect the pkcs12 file contents or key in Viscosity bundle.

  • Hi Forum,

    We are all Mac Users.
Thanks to the developers for providing such a great export tool that is Mac compatible.
Just one question: what does the following mean:

"Use a password to protect the pkcs12 file contents or key in Viscosity bundle."

We did not find a file or directory with that name; only a "Viscosity.visc" folder with some certificates inside it.
    Please explain.
Is there any password/username exposed in plain text?

    With Kind Regards,
    Alfredo.

That option only adds an additional layer of protection on a .p12 certificate store file. I'm not sure that the Viscosity bundle even uses .p12 files, but the Windows Installer does. If you put in a password there, it requires a password to access the certificate inside the .p12 file.

It would not include a username or password in plain text in there anywhere regardless of whether or not you chose that option.
