How to change Voucher Length in CP

Hi,
i have installed the captive portal with voucher authentication on my network and this working well. But now i have to change the size of the Vouchers to 8 digits or less.
I tried to increase the number of digits in the "Character Set" and could decrease the Voucher to 6 digits. By doing this the voucher has become invalid and does not authenticate in the page.
Are there any configuration to be done? (Rolls bits, Ticket Bits, Checksum Bits, Magic Number)?
