My WAN network is 1.2.3.96/28. This provides me with 14 usable IP addresses.

The WAN interface is defined as 1.2.3.98/28. The Gateway interface uses 1.2.3.97.

I am trying to setup my first Port Forward for RDP but it is failing.

I setup a NAT Port Forward from my home IP address to 1.2.3.100 using port MS RDP (3389) to go to a specific internal ip address, 172.16.1.26 also using port 3389. The Rule was created automatically. This does not work.

I changed the port forward to use 1.2.3.98 and all works like a champ. That makes me a chump.
What am I missing here? I am a strong believer in RTFM, so if you'll just point me in the right direction, I'll go learn.

          P E R F E C T !!!
I CAN use 1.2.3.98 because it is the WAN interface.
I WILL be able to use 1.2.3.99 - 1.2.3.110 when I set them up as Virtual IPs.
Then I can incorporate them into a specific NAT and individual rules.
Right now, pfSense is unaware that these IP addresses are available to it.

          Right?
