      Hi,

I've been trying to find out if there is an OID for the status of a VPN connection. My goal is to check to VPN connections of a costumer via nagios. I can't find the right check via snmpwalk and I looked trough many MIB's. Does anyone know of such snmp check? Or an other way to check the status of a VPN connection via Nagios, like NRPEv2?

I'm running NagiosXI and pfSense 2.0.1

      Thanks in advance.

      Cheers,
      Tom

There isn't anything in SNMP related to VPN status. NRPE is a likely solution, not familiar enough with it to offer specific suggestions. You can check the status page for the type of VPN you're using to see how it pulls status and adapt accordingly.

          Thanks for your response.

I already found a solution. I used the CheckWMI check, this allows you to ping via a remote host to an other remote host. For the people that are interested visit http://www.renzokuken.org/post/4231212752/how-to-ping-a-remote-server-from-a-remote-windows

          Cheers.  ;)
