Is there any way to increase the timeout used when openvpn authenticates via backend authentication?

I've setup an OpenVPN config, authenticating towards a DUO Authentication Proxy which in turn authenticates the user in AD.

Everything works perfect when using pregenerated codes (OTP's), entered with the password when connecting OpenVPN, but once i try to use PUSH authentication,
it seems OpenVPN times out, while the DUO Proxy is still negotiating the request with online servers and the push application. The Proxy then log's the auth-request as successfull, but the OpenVPN has failed the connection "long" before this….

If I could only double or triple the default timeout, it certainly would work, but I don't know which config to modify, nor if this at all is possible....

      Anyone?
