so i can add mac addresses to the allow list, or ip addresses, but i use my DHCP reservation list to put my "permanent" clients on a part of my subnet that isn't in the general pool.

So can i just specify an ip range say, 192.168.0.000 to 192.168.0.99 inclusive to be allowed through the captive portal? Either that, or it would be really nifty to have an "allow through captive portal" check box in the dhcp reservation for a mac address.

You cannot customize that on the CP config but you can create firewall rules on the CP interface(s) to allow only that range to be passed.
