This is an issue that occasionally comes up on my network. Navigating a Google related page will usually not trigger a visit to the captive portal, the browser will just time out. So you have to open or refresh a page in another tab to start a new session. Anyone else experience this or have any ideas on the subject?

I've only noticed it with Google pages, e.g. Gmail, iGoogle, Google search. On a variety of browsers and operating systems.

Probably because you're hitting those via HTTPS. Only HTTP redirects.

OK, thanks. I'll be able to check that.
