WG x750e - LED, LCD & FAN.
-
Hi,
I have succeeded with installing pfsense on a x750e that i got from my work (yeyy).
Is there a way to use the the LCD screen in front and use the pointers? left, right, down, up… right now it says "Watchguard Booting os..."
and how do I do that?I have installed WGXepc on it and now the fan is much better, thanks steve! But, is there a way so when it boots up it auto slows it down?
And the LED so i can see if a cable is active and sendning data. Is it possible to fix that?
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english. I'm really tired.
Good night everyone

Hi, good work. :)
To use the LCD you can either use the lcdproc-dev package which now has a special firebox driver included or use the older method which seems more stable at this point but is more complex to install. See: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,7920.msg207659.html#msg207659
There is also a slightly more recent driver you can manually copy over that correctly maps the keypad: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,7920.msg225980.html#msg225980You can make WGXepc run at boot by installing the shellcmd package and then adding the commands.
Alternatively you can add a small script to do it as I describe here: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,32013.msg187336.html#msg187336I modified the drivers for the two sets of interfaces, sk and msk, to setup the leds in more expected way. See this post:

It's a nasty 'hacky' solution and it won't work with 2.1 so any better suggestions are welcome! While you are editing /boot/loader.conf.local you should add this line also:
hw.msk.msi_disable=1
This should prevent any problems with watchdog timeouts on the msk NICs.

Wow, great!
I have manged to fix the LCD and the startup script.
Later I will try to fix the LED's for the NICs.
Thanks again!
You should do a thread just for all your stuff.Really nice work, and thanks again!!

Thanks. :)
Really I think a page in the wiki would be better. All the information needed is there on the forum but the various threads are now so long it's getting very hard to find it. At least in the wiki it would be update-able.Steve

Yeah, a wiki-site would be awesome.
