It would be really great if I could easily access the forums from my mobile devices. I use Tapatalk for many forums, and it installs quite easily into SMF.
Whatcha think? Instructions are below, once installed, you can list the forum in the directory for easy access.

We aren't making any changes to SMF until we get it successfully upgraded to SMF 2.x. After that, we've discussed adding something like Tapatalk and we probably will, but it may be a while yet. We've tried a couple times to get SMF moved up and had issues.
-
Aww, that sucks :( , seeing as it's not really a change, it's a simple plugin install through the admin panel. Similar to installing a plugin on pfSense.
-
True, it is just a plugin, but the SMF upgrade has failed/broken in various ways and the last thing we need at the moment is to add any other potential pitfalls to the process.
It's on our to-do list, but it may be a couple months before it materializes.
-
Oh, that's no good :P
Never considered the complications, especially since there's a different plugin for version 1 and 2 of SMF.Hopefully all goes well next time.

Any news on this? I don't care about reading, yet about posting, which currently is a real pain, as for chrome on android, the software keyboard suddenly disappears (again and again!) while writing a post. Never have seen this before, but normally I also never post something with my smartphone.
-
Coming soon, we just got moved to SMF 2.0 and added some other things, but we're looking into what that might take to add in the next few days/weeks.
-
Any update?

Any chance of looking into this now that the server seems to be more up to date? Would be great to have this on the go easily.

Page for the Tapatalk plugin for SMF: http://tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php?plugin=smf
I use Tapatalk for quite a few other forums, and support for pfsense's forum would be great and get me more active on the forums as well as I'm often checking forums when out and about or just away from the PC. And quite often, I'll be doing one thing on the PC while using Tapatalk on my phone at the same time.

I would prefer a supported responsive or mobile theme like one of the following: http://www.smfpacks.com/page/sa=themes
Mobile users currently only account for ~5% of traffic, but they have slowly increased over time (and would likely increase faster with a proper mobile friendly theme).
I'll continue looking into the best solution, but it isn't a super high priority at this time.

There's no reason that both couldn't be supported. I use several forums that have both a mobile friendly theme as well as the tapatalk plugin.
-
Any update? Will it come at some point?
-
Please, could you add tapatalk support? I use to read forums in a tram on the way to/from office and it is the most convenient way how to be in touch. I am sure that there will be rapid growth of mobile users when you enable tapatalk plugin.
Thank you in advance. -
Any update?

Making a bump to this, that would be cool :)

It looks like Tapatalk harvest's user information from the database, so we definitely won't be using it.

Tapatalk this forum.

Tapatalk this forum.
Clearly you didn't read a few posts up that Tapatalk harvests user information from the databases of forums that use it.
No thanks! Keep it away!
