Hi all :)
I really need some helps here with port forwarding.
I have been playing FS2004 for the last 2 years online without any problems to join servers and using FsNavigator.
I have been using ClarkConnect for the last year without any problems, just port forwarding UDP 6073, UDP 2300-2400, UDP 23456 and UDP 23432. And everything worked perfect until i start using pfSense :( I really love pfSense but if i can't play online with FS2004 i need to change my firewall back to clarkConnect.
So i hope maybe someone could help me to set up the rights NAT and rules for this.
Some info:FS2004 are using ports:
UDP 23456
UDP 2300-2400
UDP 6073FsNavigator default:
UDP 23432
I'm using two NIC one for WAN and the other for LAN.
my game computer are set to IP 192.168.100.102 (fs2004 are running on it)
So can someone please give me an good explanation how to set this up in pfSense in the NAT and rules?
Glad to see if someone can show this in some screenshots.Best Regards

Nat -> Portforward

Hi.
Thanks. But that not really worked here. FS2004 joined the server, no problem. But FsNavigator on port UDP 23432 can't join. Can find any server to join.
And when i take a look inside my firewall log, i figured outm when i hit "Search" button in the FsNavigator, i got 4 -5 entries on my log that:Sep 2 03:35:12 WAN SERVER IP:23458 MY ISP IP:57576 UDP
Sep 2 03:35:08 WAN SERVER IP:23456 MY ISP IP:57576 UDP
Sep 2 03:35:02 WAN SERVER IP:23458 MY ISP IP:57576 UDP
Sep 2 03:34:56 WAN SERVER IP:23456 MY ISP IP:57576 UDPAs you can see.. the port 57576 why to my IP? Well the port 57576 is random, it's change after time… but why. Maybe because the SERVER are running UPnP or something?
Never had this problem with other firewalls. And i like pfSense so much now... But i really need to get this problem fixed.Regards

Don't know the game, but a quick google search came up with tcp/udp for the ports.

Okay… i think i found the problem and this is really wared.
I removed all NAT rules for this game and all firewall rules that was automatic made by Firewall: NAT: Port Forward.
and i did a change in the Firewall: NAT: Outbound. I change to Manual Outbound NAT rule generation (Advanced Outbound NAT (AON)) and that made a automatic rule.
WAN 192.168.100.0/24 * * * * * NO Auto created rule for LAN
i added this above that rule:
WAN 192.168.100.102/32 23432 * * * * YES
And i have enabled UPnP in pfSense too.
The strange thing is... i can join every server now and with FsNavigator too without making any Firewall: NAT: Port Forward and Firewall: Rules....
It's this safe or not.
I did also try first in the Outbound NAT rule:
WAN 192.168.100.0/24 * * * * * NO Auto created rule for LAN
change it to:
WAN 192.168.100.0/24 * * * * * YES Auto created rule for LAN
worked perfect too, but i was afraid i maybe made my pfSense unsecured . So is this an safe way to setup the firewall?
Thanks
