      Hello,
      I am trying to install a client on a windows 7 64 bit machine.  I downloaded the openvpn client install from our pfsense interface and sent it to the user.  When I double click the file I get this error: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.  Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86(32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

      Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for your help!!!

      FS

        It sounds like you are trying to install a 64-bit program on a machine that is running a 32-bit OS.  You can verify the OS by right-clicking on Computer (on the Start Menu or Desktop) and selecting Properties.  Make sure you look at the operating system.  The processor may be 64-bit, but if the OS is 32-bit you have to install 32-bit programs.  For reference, x86 refers to a 32-bit architecture and it will install and run on a 64-bit OS, but not the other way around.

              @Fr0ntSight:

              It is a 64bit machine

              64bit machine != 64bit OS.

              The resolution is to NOT try to install 64bit applications on 32bit OS.
