      originally:  2.0.3
      now: 2.1-RC0 build July 3
1 wan, 1 lan, no vlan, isp verizon fios
      no pbx
connecting lan devices (ATAs, physical ip phones, software clients for SIMPLE texting) to voip providers
      voip providers: 6

Can I use the pfsense firewall rule "state type" to "none"?  Would this effect "disable your SPI" for whichever voip providers have pfsense NAT/rules?

      If not what could ?

My previous router was roulette when voip calls would have horrid audio (stuttering, laggy, silence).

I am MYSTIFIED why now with pfsense and ZERO firewall rules/NAT rules specific to either the Voip provider, ports, or lan device simply "work" with zero audio problems

      voip.ms black magic?

they still suggest in various tickets "disable SPi"  but that seems foolish for the entire pfsense appliance.  Surely this can be effected per/all:   Voip provider, ports, or lan device

I would be delighted if the pfsense wiki on voip

      • covered state types for voip
      • several demo rule sets (fw && nat) for soho voip provider without local (lan?) pbx
      • when in this situation to use SIProxd
** how to use SIProxD when connecting to 2 or more different voip providers (without a lan pbx)
** how to use SIProxD with SIPsorcery.com when connecting to 2 or more different voip providers (without a lan pbx)

At some point in the future it seems prudent to learn/employ snort.
