What's the pfSense way to switch a hostap off and on (I am running an open hotspot and sometimes I'd like to be able to disable it for maintenance)?
Is there a less invasive option than just disabling/enabling the interface? Thanks!

We use the mighty pf, we cannot be fooled.

        Less invasive by what criteria?

I would normally disable a WiFi service by disabling through the web GUI?

Yeah, by disabling the interface in the GUI. Interfaces have their own rules table, may be part of interface groups or bridges, may have aliases…all of which has to be updated/changed/removed. If you could just disable the radio, It would make switching wireless on/off a quick and painless task.
