      Hello,
I'm currently using the ANTAMEDIA Hotspot system. it's quite a good software but I've few issues with it (MAC adress and url login doesn't work well and it's a legal requirement in EU, need to by ElevateDB to be ble to access the database …). The software is full of features but I don't use more than 25% of them.

Then I'm currently thinking on moving to pfsense.

Here are differents types of users I have on my network:

      • Administrative people : VLAN 10, no CP

      • Sales team : VLAN 20, no CP

      • Pc in free access for clients : VLAN 30, no CP (only one site is allowed here)

      • WIFI for CLIENTS : I've 4 UBIQUITI APs. Here I need few features:

      • Clients can register alone with Email (The password is send to the user Email adress. By registering, clients have 10 minuts free wifi internet access to be able to check his mailbox).

      • Only one account allowed per MAC

      • Clients can change their password

I think I need to setup pfsense with CP with radius authentification to acomplish that. Can you confirm ?

Is it possible to manage DHCP for all vlans using ip-helper on switch ?
For information, using a netgear switch and a Netgear router I can adress DHCP leases based on Vlan. I don't know why it works but it works !!

      Thanks for your comments ….

            Hi,

this is the wiki for the pfsense freeradius2 package and the documentation how to do self registration with freeradius + CP + MySQL. Perhaps it could help you.
            https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/FreeRADIUS_2.x_package#CaptivePortal_Self-Registration:FreeRADIUS.2B_MySQL

Out of the box it will not work with pfsense CP nor with freeradius2 package. The "problem" is the self registration and password change.
