      I have a problem when install pfsense with Vmware Esxi,
      I found in pfsense GUI show network interface is up, but on physical didn't connect any cable.
      I try to config follow KB and configure about CARP it working if on pfsense is down,
      but if network interface down only one line look CARP not automatic take over by pfsense server two.

        pfSense is probably seeing the connection as up because, unless you passed through the physical NIC, it's "connected" to a virtual switch port, not the NIC.

            @funganz:

            The dashboard shows you that.

            Although I'm not the person to provide an answer, I think you need to be more specific with the CARP question.

              On dashboard I see all interface is up but physical didn't connect,
              For CARP if I prepare pfsense1 and pfsense2 with CARP function active-standby, if one interface down it automatic work on pfsense2
              but if I install pfsense on Esxi, one interface is down it not automatic to pfsense2.

                Did you enable promiscuous mode on the vSwitch and permit forged transmits and MAC address changes?

                I haven't had the need to do it but I think that's what's needed.

                  Please suggest me how to permit forged transmits and MAC address.
