Whether its a user downloading via FTP or one downloading via WEB(HTTP) they all report that it stabilizes at 4.5Mb.

To me that speed is awesome, if i download files from my fav file sharing sites i maybe get 1-1.6Mbps.

I checked the CONF for my FTP server and the line for limit bandwidth is fully commented out by default.

Havent checked WEB Service CONF yet, but if both are stabilizing at the same speed i am pointing toward PFSense or ISP

Any help or ideas will be def appreciated.

I take you mean MBytes not Mbits?

What what is your isp connection?

So did you mean MBytes or Mbits in remark of speed..

When you say you have only 20 up - it seems impossible that its 4.5MBps

So can you please clarify if your talking bits or Bytes in your 4.5 number – you do understand that 4.5MBps would exceed your stated 20 ?? Up ;)  I have to assume bits..

Seems like either of my FTP give the same MAX download speed which stablizes at 4.5Mbps

And who says your upload is 20?  Maybe its only 5 ;)

Can you show a speedtest where your doing 20Mbps?

                      Arrrgghhh..

Dude from a box behind pfsense - be it your webserver or ftp server or just your PC you use to manage pfsense go to say

                      http://www.speedtest.net/
                      or
                      http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

etc.. etc..  And what do you show?

So you see my ISP is comcast, and get 28 or so down but only 5+ up..  Where is your ISP details that your suppose to have 25 down and 20 up.. From your testing seems like you only have about 5 up.  So lets see just a speed test from something behind pfsense to a speedtest site.. If this shows you can push 20 up… then we can look into why you can not serve more than that up.

Also -- where are they downloading, maybe they only have 5 down?  Does not matter how many downloads they try to do at once, etc.  Do you want me to try and download something from your ftp, once you show you actually have 20 up?

                        Why the arghhhhh…........

The test results posted are from my laptop behind my pfsense box. Ill run them again, im not a residential user, i pay for a business connection.

everything i am doing is behind my pfsense firewall, that graph from the client was done by the client, every bit of info i have provided is from my server behind pfsense or from a computer behind pfsense, but the graph the client sent me which is actually as well from behind a pfsense box. Me and the client both run pfsense. I only have one connection and everything goes through the pfsense box.

I pay as a business account for certain speeds. Yes my speeds are high, but i pay for that and it is not cheap.

Here are the results as of this post.

I am also while running this test, have Netflix playing, clients uploading source code to their directories, people hitting web sites i host, and uploading 2 350MB files to a file sharing site.

43 ms ouch!!!  Pick a server on the other side of the country?

                          Well
I am also while running this test, have Netflix playing, clients uploading source code to their directories, people hitting web sites i host, and uploading 2 350MB files to a file sharing site.

That might explain the 43ms ping..  Ok so you clearly have ability to to upload more than 4.5mbps – so again, maybe that is as fast as other end could pull it?

The client reporting the 4.5 speed does pay for a strict 8 down 1 up

i had tuned installed on my Linux server and ran the command to put the throughput performance profile into effect and also irqbalance
