      Hi,
fresh install of pfSense, I need to disable the firewall to get to webgui, there isn't any rules in the WAN tab of the firewall so why I'm blocked? Ping to wan is also blocked without any rules set why?

      Is it because of this?

Everything that isn't explicitly passed is blocked by default.

        Yes,

Everything that isn't explicitly passed is blocked by default.

But there should be a pass rule on LAN by default. Normally you get to the webGUI from LAN.
Look at this doc to use the console to let yourself in on WAN, if you can't get to LAN for some reason:

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."
