      Hi experts,

Please, I need your advise. I was thinking to save my portal authentication logs so that I may monitor the time stamp of every voucher used. This is for auditing purposes against used and unused voucher.

I was thinking this idea, since the default storage of logs are in "writing log files to the local RAM disk", is it possible to just attached another HDD and then tell pfsense that it needs to save all auth logs to that hdd?

Could you recommend the best and simpliest remote syslog server for pfs?

Any advise, or tutorials is much much appreciated.

      Thanks alot!

      Nubee

I'm using a remote syslog-ng server configured with a mysql backend.  From there, I have cron triggered scripts that e-mail me statistics on all captive portal events.
