Some devices bypassing captive-portal authentication process
-
Greetings,
I have captive-portal configured on my LAN with no authentication other than a button click. Some devices (mostly smartphones) are given an IP address by DHCP without going through the captive-portal authentication process. I'm running a default install of pfSense 2.1.1-RELEASE-pfSense (amd64).
How would I go about trouble-shooting the reason why this is happening? Is this a known bug? If so, is there an solution I can implement until it is fixed in future releases.
Thank you,
Scott

Please, do NOT double/multi-post.

doktornotor,
My double post was quite unintentional. I wanted to be sure my second post was in the right topic area. Thank you for your response to my question.

I would think this is a bug at all. Once the network connection is made your going to get an IP address regardless of whether or not you have gone through the captive portal page. All the portal is doing is letting you have Internet access.

Yeah, I cannot see exactly what's the bug here, plus what's been "fixed" on the other thread, the patch is completely unrelated.
