XBOX one and intermittent strict NAT
-
Hi guys,
I just got a new xbox one and am trying to deal with the strict NAT issue. I followed the 2 or 3 SOLVED threads in this forum, and they are very helpful and i was able to obtain open NAT status right after the process. The issue is after leaving the xbox off for some time, it reverts back to strict NAT, and I have to reboot my pfsense router to restore the open NAT status. I have tried everything I can think of but do not know what I should do next. Is there a log I can enable to monitor how/why the uPNP isn't function or where the error is coming from? My seup may be a bit odd and that may be part of the issue. I subscribe to a VPN and route ALL my traffic through the VPN interface. I have a rule route my xbox one directly to my WLAN interface to bypass the VPN for a better connection. I have 3 wireless routers all configured as WAP's and have dhcp disabled on all of them. I have also confirmed uPNP and multicast are disabled on the AP's. On a side note, I was experiencing the same issue with my 360 while trying to use uPNP. my NAT would be open after configuring the uPNP, but after a few dozen games, it would revert to strict. For my 360, I just manually forwarded the ports as I didn't need more than one online at a time. Now that I have both, I will need to enable uPNP.
I hope the screenshots help. I hope someone has the time to help me sort this out. This uPNP has been the source of a lot of stress for me. It is also causing me to hate my xbox one.
Thanks

Hi guys,
so i've still been trying to get this sorted out. Ever since i started messing with the xb1, i haven't been able to get my 360 to work correctly.
when i follow the instructions to use upnp with my machines, the connections work great. Last night i had both machines working perfect with open nat. When i checked this morning, my xb1 has strict nat again and cannot obtain a Teredo IP address. if i clear my upnp, reset states, and reboot, it clears and i can open my nat. its as if my connections wont clear after I turn an xbox off.
I don't even know where to begin looking or loggin to see where the issue is.
any guidance would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks
