WiFi in "Auto" channel config

Hi,

Does anyone know,

• How pfSense determines the WiFi channel when the channel setting is set to Auto

and

• Again in "auto" mode, in which condition does it change the channel. Is it triggered by something in physical layer (such as interference) or data layer (too many frames from other APs).
