What is a good wireless N usb adapter for pfSense 2.2?
-
I currently have a TP-Link TL-WN722N, which I bought to use as an AP because it has an Atheros chipset. I thought that the Atheros would work because it is well supported in the new FreeBSD, but I can't seem to get it to work.
I bought it because I need a wireless-N adapter that has a detachable antenna and can be used as an AP, and now I can't find one. Do any of you know of a USB wireless adapter that meets the mentioned criteria?
Thanks!

I want same USB Wifi-N card, but I didn't find. :(Thanks

Concensus is that USB wireless is lackluster at best. RALink 3070/3072 works, but not very fast and it is 802.11BGN/2.4ghz only.

(Note:pfSense uses 10.1, not current)Atheros's usb chipset AR9271 is not yet supported under ath(4). On your tpwink

If you get an access point that connects to pfSense over ethernet you don't have to worry about compatibility at all ever.

Whenever you see the letters "USB", consider it not the best solution.
For disk, for ethernet, for wireless, for whatever. Look for another solution if possible.
