Cannot access web configurator

Howdy Everyone! Hoping you guys can help me out with my issue.
Basically I unplugged my pfsense lanner FW-7551 during interface assignment and now OPT1 and OPT2 will not pass traffic or be used to access the web configurator. Both the Lan and Wan interfaces work perfectly. I just purchased this firewall so it's in test and tune status right now. I'm accessing it with ssh, web configurator (on lan and wan ports) as well as terminal. just no OPT1/OPT2…. ideally i'd like to have the OPT ports as backup but don't want to put this thing into production unless it's working fully.
What i've tried to resolve.
Allow all rules on either interface
Web configurator lockout rule
Still nothing, I believe it's an issue with the underlying operating system but i'm not quite brave enough to reinstall the entire system...unless it's fairly straightforward but I'm having trouble finding literature on how to accomplish a full reinstall.
Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Factory default will give you WAN and LAN.
Then login to web interface 192.168.1.1 from LAN, Interfaces->Assign, make OPT1, OPT2 on the required hardware ports.
Enable them in Interfaces->OPT1, OPT2 and give them IP addresses in other subnets.
Then you have to add firewall rules to each interface to allow whatever traffic you wish to come in from those interfaces.
Not sure what you mean/require when you say "ideally i'd like to have the OPT ports as backup" - they will have different subnets to LAN.
