      Hi Guys,

I upgraded (replaced) my old monowall on WRAP with a new ALIX.2C3 and a EMP-8601 ATHEROS based mini-PCI for WLAN. As it isn't just enough to upgrade only the hardware i also changed over to pfSense and installed it on a 512 MB CF. Everything is working fine as expected. ;)

      Just one big problem:
When I'm connected using the wireless lan (unplugged the lan-cord), i receive an IP and can start surfing. After approx. 3 Minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less, the firewall blocks all the traffic for approx. 3 Minutes. Then everythings starts from the beginning. I can surf until the firewall blocks everything again.

I didn't set any schedules up. Firewall Rules a persistent. Everything works fine when I'm connected using LAN only. What i discovered is also the following phenomenom: After booting the box, i can't detect any WLANs from it. I need to login into the WebGUI, select the WLAN-IF and click safe once. Very strange.

      Hope you can help.

      Thanks so far …

      Stefan

          Hey Guys,

still the same problem. The WLAN works for about 3 Minutes. Then all traffic is blocked and passed through after approx. 1 minute. I didn't have the problem, when I assign a static IP to the WAN-port. However, when i use the hard-wired LAN-link, everything is fine. This is very strange and doesn't occur when using monowoll on the same hardware.

Any ideas? I'd like to use the lovely PfSense.

Hope to receive any help …

          Stefan

is your wlan interface bridged to lan and lan has no link?
