SquidGuard 1.9.10 problem
-
Hi all,
today i updated squidguard to version 1.9.10.For testing purposes i tried to stop squidguard.Nothing happened.Squidguard cannot be stopped either from its own gui or from menu Status->Services.Pfsense 2.1.5
Squid 4.3.4
lightsquid 2.33
squidguard 1.9.10 -
Just curious, but why do you need to stop it? Just disable it.
-
We mean the same thing.By unticking the enable button in gui squidguard service stops. So Disabled or stopped is the same.
-
With SquidGuard, you must uncheck the Enable box, then click Save, then click Apply or things will not be saved.
-
Correct.Nothing happened.I also went to squid GUI and clicked Save, cause i read in another topic that i must also do that.Nothing happened also.

Version 1.9.9 was buggy and crashed along with squid.I figured out that it had to do with the custom options that squidguard wrote to squid.conf. Version 1.9.10 fixed that but maybe not completely. Is it possible that the custom options that squidguard writes to squid.conf are the problem?
-
I don't know. I do know that I remember SquidGuard being picky and you had to make your changes and then Save then Apply. I currently use SquidGuard-squid3 1.4_4 pkg v.1.9.6.

Tried to stop and restart squidguard service on systemlogs i see these two lines:
Jan 22 08:59:50 squid[23704]: Bungled squid.conf line 81: redirect_program /usr/pbi/squidguard-amd64/bin/squidGuard -c /usr/pbi/squidguard-amd64/etc/squidGuard/squidGuard.conf
Jan 22 08:59:50 php: /pkg_edit.php: The command '/usr/pbi/squid-amd64/sbin/squid -k reconfigure' returned exit code '1', the output was '2015/01/22 08:59:50| aclParseAclLine: WARNING: empty ACL: acl throttle_exts urlpath_regex -i "/var/squid/acl/throttle_exts.acl" 2015/01/22 08:59:50| parseConfigFile: squid.conf:80 unrecognized: 'url_rewrite_bypass' FATAL: Bungled squid.conf line 81: redirect_program /usr/pbi/squidguard-amd64/bin/squidGuard -c /usr/pbi/squidguard-amd64/etc/squidGuard/squidGuard.conf Squid Cache (Version 2.7.STABLE9): Terminated abnormally.'
There is certainly something wrong with the package configuration.

+1
SquidGuard may be only disabled. Otherwise Squid will crash.
