I was trying to post a reply on a number of threads related to this topic but could not. I followed the instructions on https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=86584.msg474777#msg474777. In addition I also had to make a specific symbolic link for:

      ln -s /usr/pbi/lightsquid-amd64/local/etc/lightsquid/lightsquid.cfg /usr/local/etc/lightsquid/lightsquid.cfg

Lightsquid is up and running fine with "Squid 2.7.9 pkg v.4.3.6" and "Lightsquid 1.8.2 pkg v.2.33" and pfSense 2.2

hmm, ln -s /usr/pbi/lightsquid-amd64/local/etc/lightsquid /usr/local/etc/lightsquid should have cover that since its a link to the folder which would include all the files

its the lightsquid package that needs to be fix, not the squid package.

I'm having an issue with lightsquid not working as well.
When I go to lightsquid and select proxy state I see….

Warning: gethostbyaddr(): Address is not a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in /usr/local/www/sqstat/sqstat.class.php on line 426 Warning: gethostbyaddr(): Address is not a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in /usr/local/www/sqstat/sqstat.class.php on line 426 Warning: gethostbyaddr(): Address is not a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in /usr/local/www/sqstat/sqstat.class.php on line 426 Warning: gethostbyaddr(): Address is not a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in /usr/local/www/sqstat/sqstat.class.php on line 426

When I select Lightsquid report I get "404 - Not Found"

              thoughts?

I'm no programmer but I would believe this needs to fix at the source SqStat 1.20 unless someone wants to fix it in pfSense… From what I can tell, it doesn't support IPv6 Addresses... I started to get that error a while ago when I enabled IPv6.

For the 404 error, did you happen to reinstall Lightsquid today? If not. Uninstall it, and install again and see if the 404 error will go away.

Seems after removing Squidgaurd and installing squidguard-dev LightSquid seems to be working. It is reporting properly today and I am indeed getting hits.
Granted I'm not 100% sure that was the cause but I thought it worth posting so others know.

I put in fixes for lightsquid a few days ago, lightsquid working wouldn't have any relation to either squidGuard package being installed.
