      I'm trying to install HAVP onto a brand new 2.2_RELEASE install in a test lab environment (in XenServer 6.2), and I'll be blowed if I can get it running.

      I got around the "Warning: file_put_contents(/usr/local/etc/havp/havp_conf.xml): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/pkg/havp.inc on line 604" error quickly enough by tweaking a line in havp.inc to point at /usr/pbi/havp-amd64/local/etc instead of /usr/local/etc, but even with that change in place the service refuses to start.

      More than happy to add any additional info as required.

        Ignore me please; PEBKAC. (Note to self for next time - go into the HTTP Proxy page and enable the service you fool)

          Could you please specify how you edited the config file?
          I (and i presume many others) are suffering this same warning, thus HAVP wont start!!!

          EDIT: ok, here's how I did it:

          vi /usr/local/pkg/havp.inc

          did this:
          #define('HVDEF_WORK_DIR',                '/usr/local/etc/havp');
          define('HVDEF_WORK_DIR',                '/usr/pbi/havp-amd64/local/etc');

            Hello I'm a new user of pfSense and I'm also getting the error that's been posted.

            I made sure the http proxy was enabled.

            @laamanni

            I am assuming you use ssh to connect to it and modify that file?

            What causes this problem did i installed something incorrectly?

              I think this is a known issue. There was another thread with many others having problems as well. Only choice right now is to use Squid3 with HAVP built-in.

                I had remove the package when it did not work. I read this post and reinstall it to modify it as suggested.

                Big problem.
                pfSense box is no longer available or I can't get to the webconfig and the internet seize to work.  I have rebooted the box to no avail.

                How can I unistall the package so i can get back online.

                      This appears to be ongoing.  I edited havp.inc to change the WORK_DIR and still not working.
