      Hi all

Does anyone know a way to keep users authenticated when rebooting pfSense? If I reboot, there are potentially 25,000 users that need to put their email address in again, as the database is cleared on the pfSense box.

      Thanks

You could enable Pass trough MAC automatic additions. That way users only need to
        Log in once.

Dunno if that's what your looking for.

Thanks, I already tried that in the past. The issue with that is that you start getting a few thousand people and the whole box starts really slowing down every time a new person authenticates. All in all, there's probably a new user every 20 seconds registering.

You are sure this is still true on 2.2?

I dont know for local authentication. But when u use RADIUS authentication/accounting the session is ended with "Admin-Reboot" when pfsense is rebooted.

Not sure if MAC passthrough is still slow when new users join and there are already thousands in the list, but just allowing them through, the database appears to be cleared on reboot.
