Custom HTML - how to back it up?

A while ago I have added some custom HTML and pictures…now with a bad upgrade to 2.2 and going back to 2.1.5 still leaving some addons not working as they should (Dansguardian) even after restoring from a fullbackup I am looking to backup my custom HTML files and start fresh.
I believe CP custom HTML are not part for the XML file.
Can anyone tell me where those files are and how to back them up? I looked but cannot find them

When you upload a customised CP login page it does get backed up as part of the XML config file (I've done it so I know it works). The pictures ought to be included as well, assuming you uploaded them via the 'file upload' section of the captive portal configuration pages.
