I am confused with the Source. What is the difference between VLAN1 address and Single host?

Let's say we have a network printer in VLAN1.

If I choose VLAN1 address, I do not see an option to enter the IP address. I think I should choose Single host to do it. However, if that is correct, I do not see the necessity of VLAN1 address as a choice. What is the difference between VLAN1 net and VLAN1 address, then?

I am a beginner of pfSense and Firewall. Could you teach me differences with simple examples?

      Thank you.

VLAN1 address is exactly that. The address assigned to VLAN1 interface on the firewall itself.

If you assigned an interface named VLAN1 the address 192.168.100.1/24, 192.168.100.1 would be VLAN1 Address.  192.168.100.0/24 would be VLAN1 net.

The obvious benefit is that if you renumber the interface, all your firewall rules follow along.
