    Hello everyone.

Last week I upgraded my pfsense installation from 2.15 to 2.2. Then I always had these error messages:

New alert found: There were error(s) loading the rules: /tmp/rules.debug:18: cannot define table bogons: Invalid argument - The line in question reads [18]: table <bogons>persist file "/etc/bogons"
[ There were error(s) loading the rules: /tmp/rules.debug:21: cannot define table bogonsv6: Invalid argument - The line in question reads [21]: table persist file /etc/bogonsv6]

Today I then tried with a fresh install. I did not configure any rules or anything yet. Just the basic stuff and the wan interface. But still these errors appear again.. I did upgrade the bogon files through the console: /etc/rc.update_bogons.sh now. But this didn't help either..

The thing is, as long I have this error messages the routing to my subnets is completely broken.. I found out that I can remove the content of the /etc/bogons & /etc/bogonsv6 files, then the messages do not appear anymore. Also the routing kinda works. At least for incoming traffic, outgoing traffic still doesn't go throug… All outgoing packets are being dropped. DNS requests everything. I can set specific rules to allow the blocked packets, but still it doesn't go throug... :/

Another thing is, that pfsense frequently crashes. Most of the time when Rebooting or just booting up...

Nobody else is having these issues?
    Thanks for the help!</bogons>

Someone move this to virtualization section. This certainly does not happen on physical boxes with a sane amount of RAM.

I am running pfsense on vm on esxi with only 2GB of ram given to it.. And I have both bogon tables listed, and clicked the manual update on both of them and they show updated now.

56132 entries in this table.  the latest bogon data.

                ipv6 is huge ;)

I personally don't have much use for the bogon tables.. Especially ipv6 version - but not having any problem with them.

Ok i figured it out… I played a bit with the virtualisation settings..

In the end it worked, when I used a hard disk with the "raw disk image (raw)" format. Before I had "QEMU image format (qcow2)" and it worked with pfSense 2.1.5.
