      Hi,

If I create a NAT:Outbound rule to allow traffic out via the WAN from the LAN, do I also require firewall rules on the WAN interface?

I assumed that I had to allow traffic on the LAN and WAN interface settings, but a recent test seems to indicate it is only the LAN I need rules on.

Should the only rules on the WAN interface be for inbound connections?  Does a NAT:Outbound rule count as a firewall rule on the WAN interface already?

      Regards,
      Rob.

No. Create firewall rules on source interface. If the traffic is from lan to wan, create the rule on lan.

Thanks, that saves me on a lot of extra rules with no purpose.

          Regards,
          Rob.
