I have an AP that is capable in communicating with a radius server.  Which is the best approach to use, set the wireless AP in bridge mode and have captive portal listen on the ethernet port or set an IP on the AP and have it communicate with the radius server?

If you are considering later in time to install multiple access points then its better to connect pfsense to radius server . This way you have centralized management. If you connect APs to radius every time you change configuration in radius you have to go to each AP to configure accordingly. … That sucks if you have a couple of hundreds APs
